Important ingredients for an interesting novel

Beautiful, smart, fiery temper heroines and larger than life heroes - interesting, well worked-out romance plots with a touch of mystery & suspense – all taking place in a majestic setting: is what I believe to be the most important ingredients for an interesting novel.

Please, feel free to share what makes a novel interesting for you. Which are those characteristics that would satisfy you as a reader?

  1. I agree with the ingredients that you describe. I would also like to add that I enjoy contemporary romance novels. I have no interest in novels taking place in the past or the future. I also like reading romance novels with rich and famous protagonists, since I enjoy reading about their lifestyles, which are so far out of my reach. One thing that I avoid, is reading stories that take place during wars or other upheaval times. I believe that we have enough stress in our lives; we don’t need to add to it, by reading about times of distress.
By the way, I can’t wait for the release of “Spellbound in His Arms”. Reading the blurb, I’m really excited and can’t wait to read the novel.
