Yet again, Angel Sefer drew me in in another breath-stealing suspenseful story, mixing lethal danger with a passionate love. This time, her heroine, Christina Connors, wakes up and finds herself right into a melee of action, and she can't remember a thing. Before she has a chance to recover, she's kidnapped, embarking on a journey that will take her back to the Greek island of Kefalonia where she'll find her roots, a true love, but also, quite possibly, her own death.

I've also read the first two books in the series, and I consider this the best of all three. The twists are really unpredictable, the romance hotter and the change of location and villains mind-spinning.

Christina Connors wakes up in an alley surrounded by darkness. Next to her is a dead body. She searches her memory and reality comes crushing down on her.

This is a great story that I would recommend to anyone! It’s suspenseful, full of twists and turns that will have you turning the pages. The characters jump off the page with secrets and troubled pasts that come back to haunt them. Well done.

This book is my favorite by Angel Sefer so far. It takes the reader on an exhilarating ride and I couldn’t put it down. Through an intricate web of guilty secrets, lust, danger and heartache, Christina and Dan keep separating and reuniting again, their love and trust towards each other being tested throughout. Angel Sefer has grown immensely as a writer since publishing the first book in the series. The writing in this volume is superb and it took my breath away. I am amazed at this author’s capability to create such fast-faced, riveting reads. Also, her choices of setting remain as stunning as always. I loved that the story took me as a reader to so many different enchanting locations, the island of Kefalonia being the precious jewel that’s suitably introduced at the riveting climax. Although this is a series, each book can be read as a standalone. I am still going through them and can’t wait to start the next one now.

Christina Connors (or Sophia) wakes up in an alley and can't remember how her rib got broken and how the dead body ended up next to her. Detective Dan Mallory tries to help her re-gain the missing parts of her memory but a sinister gang is after Christina and abducts her.
She has secrets of her own, as we learn from later chapters, and she needs to decide whether or not she can trust Dan.
The two of them have great chemistry and provide an interesting romance to this action packed and fast paced, suspenseful story. Changing perspectives give us insight into both sides, the story keeps going with nail-biting drama and some unexpected turns.
Angel Sefer's Greek Island Series is a force to be reckoned with. Very addictive.

Dark Shadows of the Past. It is the fourth novel in The Greek Isles Series. Angel Sefer happens to be one of my favorite authors, and I was thrilled to receive this copy for free on a promo in exchange for an honest review. Having read her other books in this series, I knew this one would not disappoint. This page-turning thrilling love story has it all: drama, suspense, and mystery in two well-described locations: Atlanta, the Blue Ridge Mountains of Northern Georgia, and the island of Kefalonia. The wonderful characters will pull you in with their intrigue. No spoilers here, except it's a must read for mystery romance lovers. Highly recommend!!

This is another captivating mystery/thriller romance in The Greek Isles Series. Dark Shadows of the Past is an action-packed, suspenseful and intriguing story set in two locations, in two very different cultural contexts: 1) in Atlanta, the Blue Ridge Mountains of Northern Georgia, and 2) the Greek island of Kefalonia. This cultural cocktail gives the story its uniquely familiar but exotic flavor. What I liked most was the pace. It is incredibly fastpaced, with the plot moving forward rapidly and robustly, yet unpredictably. The story and the twists and turns are literally and metaphorically around every turn of the page, sometimes within the same paragraph; it will leave you gasping if not breathless. In my case, every time I thought I had it all figured out, a new twist left me thunderstruck. Wow! What a ride! If you enjoy fast moving literature with cultural significance, genuinely, then I recommend this book for you.

I'm a big fan of Angel Sefer's Greek Isles series, as all take me back to exotic locations and make me truly feel a part of the storyline.

I’m hooked on this series—for so many reasons, and especially love the amazing descriptions of a different Greek island in each book. Add mysterious, suspenseful plots and hot romances, and it's another winner.

Dark Shadows of the Past was just as wonderful as the previous novels, if not better. Breathlessly following the action-packed plot from Atlanta, to the Blue Ridge Mountains of Northern Georgia, and finally to the island of Kefalonia, I just couldn’t put my kindle down.
The descriptions of Kefalonia in the book reminded me of the fascinating setting of the movie “Captain Corelli’s Mandolin”. Read it and you’ll see what I mean.

Well written with descriptive scenery and sharply developed characters, make this fabulous storyline a worthy five star read!!

WOW! This is a great story! I love characters with secrets and troubled pasts that come back to haunt them, and Christina is that heroine. From the moment she wakes up in an alley with no memory of how she got there, the plot thickens. The suspense builds and the twists and turns kept me reading. It all takes place against beautiful settings. I wanted to pack my bags and hop on a plane. Five stars for a good sense of character, a solid story, and beautifully described locations.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest opinion.

Christina awakens on the cold hard ground in an alley hearing activity around her. Dan, a detective, is there as are other police employees. She is confused and doesn't remember what happened to her. The paramedics are there to take her to the hospital and that is when she realizes there is another body in that alley.....

Soon the memories start to return. Dan Mallory, the detective, comes to see her to find out what happened. She tells him about going to see her friend and the men that happened there.

But Christina has secrets, many of them. She is attracted to Dan as he is to her and Dan vows to protect her as her past comes to visit.

This book is full of twists and turns. Every time you understand why one is happening, here comes another twist. I felt that maybe it might have been too many. I don't know how Christina dealt with some of the blows she took because when it unraveled she was hit with a lot at once. Needless to say, she is a tough woman.

Dan is a really good guy. He works hard and crazy hours so relationships have been tough for him. Christina kept things from him trying to protect him and he really had a hard time with it.

You can pretty much figure out what her secret is but the was the author chose to deal with it and all it's twists and turns was really great! The descriptions of the Greek Isle was awesome, I could actually picture it and really wanted to be there!

I would recommend this book and would read another by this author.
